Saturday in My Craft Room

I've been spending a lot more time in my craft room this year, making, plotting, thinking. It's so nice to have a safe little sanctuary spilling over with fabric, papers and pencils. So many things to make, so much inspiration to be had in here.

"Pattern Play" for Fashion Gone Rogue / Editorial

If there's one thing in fashion editorials that I can get down with time and time again, it's print mixing. There's something so rebellious, so middle finger to the "fashion rules" that I just love.

The photos from this editorial for Fashion Gone Rogue, shot by Craig Salmon and styled by Katelyn Mooney makes my grey skies blue.

 

Nobu Miake/ Fadeless Project

Oh my goodness, these are breathtakingly beautiful! As a part of the Design Soil collaborative, Japanese designer Nobu Miake made vases from simple materials such as leather wood and rubber bands. The vases are intended to show the transformation of flowers from fresh to dried.

Loving {Forever}: Pom Poms

The only problem with getting the pom-pom making bug is that you can't stop. I'm stuffing pom poms into drawers! And I just keeping making more!




I also recommend making a pom pom (or 30) if you're feeling a little stressed out. Nothing like the zen of trimming a yarn ball into a perfect circle to blow off some steam.

Oh boy, oh boy! It's the first of a new series of posts on my blog, a chronicle of the books I've read and the movies I've watched as the year progresses. It's also a new way for me to flex some writer's muscles. I've been wanting to write more, about more varied subjects, on my blog but I wasn't so sure about the venue.
