First off, I apologize for how dreadfully late this is, and on the last day too! I didn't work at home today, so what I should have done was write this last night but instead I got stuck in a heroes marathon. Man, that's a good show.
Anyway, enough about my television habits, today is Blue and Purple day! I love all shades of blue. Actually, one thing I learned this week is that I never met a color I didn't like. I felt like every day I was thinking, "oh yay! my favorite color!" Another thing I learned is that I need more purple in my life. How is it that I have every color in my house but purple?
Ok, let's look at some pictures!
A detail of an installation by artist Devorah Sperber. Yes, those are spools of thread!
I walked by this door on my way home from brunch one day and had to take a picture!
The foyer of style icon Tifanny Dubin. There are so many things I love about this picture: how the girl's dresses echo the colors of the room, how a wall treatment that could have gone in a bad way looks so fresh and modern, how shiny the floors are. I think it's safe to say this is my dream foyer, and I am nerdy enough to dream about foyers.
An image from one of my favorite John Galliano seasons ever. If you're wondering, that would be Spring 2003. I'm sure the models did not enjoy being airbrushed with blue paint but it makes for a gorgeous picture, no?
Another great use of complimentary colors from designer Carolyn Quartermaine.
One more pic from Dale Chihuly's show at the Botanical Gardens.
I'm going to be off thrifting in the country all day tomorrow and then I'll be back on Sunday to do a little Color Week wrap-up! And one more thing: I was so blown away by all the people who joined in that I am going to randomly pick one of you lovely bloggers to get a little gift from me!
It's really the least I can do. Seriously, you guy are all so awesome.
