These beautiful photos were taken by freelance photographer Caroline Hancox. I love how well she captures these small everyday moments and makes them look so compelling and monumental. 

Caroline recently published a photo book called Still Here. The next couple of photos are from that book.




Also, she is working on a photo project with a fellow photographer Ian Land called 114 miles. Each week the two take a photo and display them together as a diptych. To make it more interesting they live 114 miles apart and have never met.

Talk about prolific!

Liz Scott is a LA- based textile and surface designer. I love her use of color and her geometric prints so much that it was hard to pick just a few things to show you all!
Here are a few of her Spoonflower printed fabrics below from her fabric shop Wonderfluff. All these prints are available in lots of different fabrics from quilting weight cottons to Organic cotton knits.

Art Basel or Bust!

 

I am practically bursting with excitement that I get to go to Art Basel in Miami this year for work and this is despite the fact that I haven’t really even unpacked from my West Coast trip. I considered leaving everything in my suitcase but the climate in the Northwest is just a little bit different from Miami. I am definitely not prepared for warn weather dressing: my poor white legs haven't seen daylight in months!

Anyway, I am most looking forward to seeing what these guys, Friends with You, come up with. It’s sure to be outrageous, fun and colorful.

I just bought this beautiful watercolor illustration from Etsy shop Made by Anna. I love the feeling in these illustrations: so serene and peaceful. Oh, and let me be clear: these are not prints! They are original art!

Phat Knits

Designer Bauke Knottnerus makes (among other things) home goods from giant "threads". These look like a lot of fun to jump around on.

modern farmhouse

I love how artist Sean Scherer decorated his upstate New York farmhouse. I have really been into this cozy rustic modern look lately, ever since we moved into a loft. Our old Brooklyn apartment was very old fashioned with it's crown moldings and ancient radiators but this new place just can't handle that Brooklyn baroque style. 

 I am particularly into Sean's wall treatments- book pages, news papers and blank pages from a ledger? Fantastic!

Sarah Hannevick

Sarah Hannevick makes absolutely beautiful mixed-media art. Raised in both the US and Norway and now living in Korea, you can see the influence of all three cultures in her work. I love the details and texture in each piece. They really invite you to examine every inch with layers of sewing, printing, fabrics and paper.

Lauren Denitzio is a Brooklyn based illustrator and graphic designer. I love her use of type and book pages. Her illustrations make me miss Brooklyn something fierce.
