Pojagi: Korean Patchwork
There were a few posts going around Pinterest yesterday on Korean Pojagi patchwork so I did a little research and turned up this amazing exhibit in 2008 at the International Quilt Study Center and Museum in Nebraska (PS- wow! I want to study there!) on Pojagi. In Korea, like many Asian cultures, there is a great tradion of wrapping ojects with beautiful textiles. Pojagi was used to cover, wrap, carry and store objects. They were also used as tablecloths, to protect sacred texts and to deliver a marriage proposal
Sometimes they were even adapted to make clothing.
Look at the intricacy of this patchwork!
