Speaking of Valentine's Day, this looks like an awesome show and I love the poster, designed by Jen Davison Wick. 

I Heart Valentines

I love Valentine's Day. Not the Hallmark, cheap box of chocolates, forced romantic gestures part of Valentine's Day but the crafty fun, pink and red, making sweets for people you really like part of Valentine's day. I already have some plans for this year (not telling much yet but they involve shortbread and some really cute cookie cutters) but here are some other Valentines that I love, both to make and to buy:

Jewelry: Bud and Branch

 I love these organic but modern pieces from Philadelphia based (yay Philly!) Bud and Branch. Designer Carrie Biegler makes every piece of her jewelry by hand without the use of factory made molds or charms. As someone who has no idea how to make jewelry from scratch, I am totally in awe of this.

Design: Serif Tote Bag

 This Serif Tote Bag from Little Factory is totally hysterical.

Bella Foster

I love these incredibly expressive and colorful paintings of interiors by artist Bella Foster. I love all the layers of pattern. There's something about them that just seems so very old New York, like a beautiful apartment in the West Village.

Carolyn Salas

This rug by artist Carolyn Salas  is actually made of carpet foam padding. Totally incredible!

Belinda Chen

 

Belinda Chen is a Berlin based illustrator. I particularly love her fashion and style illustrations; the pops of bright colors against the stark white ground is really dramatic and beautiful. You can see more of her work here.

Studiofolk

Wow, it's been a long time since I updated my blog! I just spent 7 days opening a store in Maryland and was a little over-ambitious about keeping up with This is Love Forever.

Back to the inspiration! I love these sweet and color illustrations from french designer Denis Carrier, who works under the name Studiofolk. You can see lots more right here.

Jam for Christmas

 

I have a pretty huge holiday gift list so every year I come up with a gift that I can make in quantity that everyone will appreciate. This year it was homemade jam. My friend Meredith recently taught me and the Mr. how to make jam and it was so fun and satisfying. 

I dressed up the jars with typed and sewn labels, craft paper, baker's twine and little toadstools then added a simple white porcelain spoon. 

Sadly, we have run out of our own personal homemade jam stash so I can't wait to make another batch! I'm thinking plum or cherry next.
