Leanne Shapton's Wooden Books

Leaneshapton
I love these painted wooden block books by artist Leane Shapton. It's hard to pick a favorite: I love the look of Lolita but so many of these other books remind me of a time in my life: A Room of One's Own, The Yellow Wallpaper, One Hundred Years of Solitude and Howard's End are old favorites too. You can see more books on her website or purchase them at the John Derian store.

Cathy has been in town this week and so we've been running around, shopping and just generally painting the town. One place I love to show people is Pappabubble an amazingly creative candy shop. The owners of Papabubble are in the store almost every day hand-making candy and it is mesmerizing! If you are in New York, Barcelona, Tokyo or Amsterdam, it is a must-visit. Or, if you can't wait, check out this video of them making candy with Martha!
