Toile Love

I have always had a weird thing for toile. These two images have been in one of my inspiration books for years.

I love the formality of these rooms; I imagine them as guest rooms in some old Connecticut mansion. Maybe it's because they seem totally unlike anything I would ever want in my house but I secretly long for an all-toile room. For now, I am content with covering the cushions on my couch in toile, which is one of the many things on my to-do list.
What do you think of toile? Love it, hate it, totally indifferent?
